I read an article that supposedly explained the different reasons why our fears of Ebola patients being brought into United States, are largely overblown. One, is that the Ebola virus needs to transfer directly, via bodily fluids or blood. Second, is that compared to countries in Africa hit by Ebola, United States has far, far better medical care procedures and means of control, to prevent contagion.

Even the jet that transported the patients was specially designed, keeping the patients isolated from the flight crew.

Ebola is already in America and has been for some time. Labs who specialize in infectious disease testing have significant stockpiles. At her last job, one of my mom's offices was at such a lab. I've visited it and watched, from behind glass, researchers in full suits handle it. The lab is right off of the tri-state (I-294).

There's a difference between a bug kept in a vial under standard controls and setting a precedent to return infected folks from hot zones to America. It's a terrible precedent.
