What reasonable people do in an epidemic is to stay home as much as possible. I grew up on a farm. If we stupid hicks can figure it out, why can't you? We had food, etc everything stocked up. When we were sick, we stayed home till we were better. When a bunch of folks were sick, we stayed home, and then came in.

Sure they can. Adequately prepared, you can hole up for quite a long time. The Epidemic in Liberia didn't just start up, it's been going for months. They've had time to stock up and prepare. If you've got the means to pay for a 1500 dollar ticket, you've got the means to stock up and ride out the storm.

Now - and this is my final point - if you aren't a complete dumbass, you'll be able to resupply with minimal risk.
