And it is not just black culture which would be the only reason why people are wanting something from sports leagues with their mostly african american players that they don't want from all other employers. It is a problem with all cultures (Even none western ones).

Sep 2, 2014 - Centerplate CEO Desmond Hague resigned this morning, following outrage over footage that shows him kicking and choking a dog in an elevator...
In Canada, the CEO of an international entertainment services corporation was forced to resign for kicking a dog. So, I disagree.

      Yes, I agree with that.

What I disagree with is businesses being expected to do investigations about their employees activities outside of the business environment.

Exceptions of course exist for things like security or working with kids.

What about someone who is, in the case of a CEO, a supervisor of many employees and the head of a company, and also an animal abuser? Who cares, right?

What about someone who is, in the case of the sports star, a hero and role model for kids, and also a flagrant wife/girlfriend beater? Who cares, right?

What does that have to do with the NFL?

Does that mean that companies should always be investigating their CEOs? And fire them for engaging in any behaviour that would be disapproved of? (secret lovers, drug use, animal abuse, wild parties, racist opinions, etc) I would expect that few CEOs (and few 'stars' of any sort) would hold up to the scrutiny (especially for drug use/affairs/etc). However, shouldn't this be the responsibility of governments (if it should be done) and not businesses?

Why should we expect businesses to police their employees personal lives?

they represent those companies to the customers...not many people would care if a CEO used drugs occasionally, lotsa people would care if they beat their spouse, kids and animals

Wow kid. Makes me wonder about your ex-wife. I'm just garden variety crazy. You're riding the crazy train, and when I'm the one saying that it means something.

I defended you when others were judging you for threatening to kill someone. Maybe I'm crazy, eh?

Yeah, all I said is I could kick Loin's ass. How that translates to a death threat, I'm not sure. I also served my time for a ban for that, btw.

Kid, I like you but that statement is indefensible. You could be my bestest friend ever and I'd still call you out for what you said there. It's just plain wrong.

The post is still up here. All I said was, "I could kick loin's ass". I went to bed that Friday night, came back on Saturday and found myself banned. I wasn't able to get ahold of MikeH until Monday. No discussion, no nothing, no PM. Jack ****. 6 month ban.

                        • And a glorious six months it was.

(Also, as a sidenote, I'm very skeptical you could kick loin's ass)

Apparently loinburger finds my 5'5'' 130 pound frame intimidating.

As an aside, been assaulted three times, came out of it ok. One drunk sucker punched me and I took it, and another drunk busted my door down, grabbed me and I broke his chokehold. Ended up with a few scratches from when the vase he smashed shattered. The third time was a dude off his meds who cornered me, grabbed me and headbutted me. I just took it and walked away.

So far, I've been fortunate in that de-escalating in all but one case has been successful. I've only once had to really work at protecting myself, and I was successful in that.

Are we counting the one who brought prostitutes home? That was a terrible landlord. Who was actually set up by my boss I went to church with. *sigh*.

Or the burglar I scared off?

No, I've just had terrible luck over the years.

First one, I was going out for an evening walk and the dude jumped me.

Second one, I was home. I was living in an apartment with an alcoholic. I had a room of my own and he trashed the door when he was drunk out of his gourd. That was after driving halfway across town (while drunk out of his mind), and terrorizing his girlfriend's son. Who had cancer. At his care home.

I *wish* I were kidding. But it's all, sadly 100 percent true.

Third one, I was home. Landlord went off his meds and attacked me when I was getting my laundry done.

I still can't believe I paid money to stay in those places. FML.
