I don't know the whole story, but what if it is as initially stated...a mutually combative situation or if she attacked him. Does he not have the right to defend himself because he is stronger?

I have been thinking about this and those who say that the NFL has acted improperly here.
Domestic violence(DV) is terrible, and more should be done about it. However, it is not the business of the NFL to be the judge/jury/police, nor the team. They are the employer/business, and if the incident did not take place within the NFL environment than they have no responsibility, just like McD does not have any responsibility for the behaviour of it's employees when they are not at McD nor engaged in McD related activities. Same with Walmart or any other business. We don't look at someone who did something criminal, and say that their employer should have investigated them/etc and is being negligent by not doing so.
To compare these NFL cases to sexual harassment/rape that happens on college campuses is not reasonable. That is the business of the colleges because it is taking place in the college environment.
Of course if something becomes "News" and negatively impacts the business, businesses can and should fire people. But they shouldn't need to employ an army of investigators, lawyers, and judges in order to police their employees for activities that take place outside of the business environment. This is a level of involvement that I don't want businesses to take in my life and I don't want businesses to take in the lives of their employees/etc.
The problem with DV is a problem with the court system and the culture. And it is not just black culture which would be the only reason why people are wanting something from sports leagues with their mostly african american players that they don't want from all other employers. It is a problem with all cultures (Even none western ones).
