Meteor Shower Tonight - and Acid Reflux

Every goddam article I read on the ****ing meteor shower left out the one piece of information I needed:

WHERE IN THE ****ING SKY DO I LOOK?!?!?!?!!?!?!??

I was asleep by like 10pm anyways.

Look for Cassiopeia and look to the west of it. (the double u thing). It won't be that far away from Polaris.

I know nothing of the sky.

Why is this always so difficult? Astronomy people are such asses.

In Chicago? About 25 degrees above the horizon, looking NE at midnight tomorrow. That's the width of your hand, outstretched. You'll be looking at a blank patch of sky and you might need to get clear of obstructions on the horizon to see it.

Not all that important. The meteor shower has a radiant, which is the point in the sky from which it originates, but the meteors themselves will then streak all across the sky. The direction you want to look is up.

yeah. the peresids are coy bastards because of this sort of thing. i read an article about how the Giraffids turned out to be a bust anyway. oh well.
