Reminds me of that monologue in the "Devil Wears Prada" by Merryl Streep's character - what people are wearing today, the colors, styles, etc, come from fashion shows a few years prior to it. It's not a direct analogue, obviously, because fashion shows are designed to get people to notice certain colors or styles in an exaggerated way, but it does filter down over time.

Careful, now; referencing a film when you know damn well none of us have seen it is Molly's schtick, and he does it better. Some of us might theoretically have actually seen that film with a date or something, after all.

I concur. However, if anyone's going to believe in rights (as preexisting somehow, and not as necessary political inventions), they really need together and get clear on what exactly they are. Otherwise it's basically a religious argument, only with far less self-awareness.
