Chances are, the front tire just happened by random chance2-3 years old they start failing more frequently.

    Don't go borrowing trouble.

When you have it replaced make sure they balance it, too, Sometimes tires can throw a weight.

    ACK!

Okay. I don't know what any of that means, but when I was googling before I made the thread, people were saying similar things. I'll go to the mechanic and grunt about balancing.

      Thanks, btw.

My dealership offered to rotate my tires while I was getting my oil changed. I told the lady at the counter that my tires rotate about their axles for free, so no thanks. She looked at me like I was crazy, but **** that noise.

we have aluminum rims and they oxidize along the bead line and occasionally 1-2 of the rims will leak a few months after installation... driving on rocky/gravel roads can also wedge dust into any openings from the oxidization and accelerate the process...but its just a coincidence. Oxidization leaks dont go flat on our car, the pressure eventually equalizes so the tires can still get us to the station for air. If you got flats you've got punctures or a bad valve stem.

get yer tires balanced, rotate them every 1-2 years - you can do the rotation yourself. And if you have a fully functional spare get it into the rotation and put the worst tire into the trunk as your new spare. Try to match your tires, all 4 (5) the same is best but if you got 2 pairs that'll do. Keep any mismatched tires on the back.

newer low end cars lack the insulation for a smooth ride so the wheels can really be felt thru the steering wheel making high quality tires even more important, the difference in ride between our 2001 toyota avalon and a 1991 buick park avenue is ridiculous, I'll never buy another light weight compact.

you can walk around your tires rubbing the palm of your hand over the tread, feel for uneven side to side wear or "cupping", golf ball sized depressions. Sharp edges on one side of the tread and dull on the other says rotate asap or replace if balancing wont fix the wheel. A sever wobble could be a snapped steel belt within the tire (I had one recently) and no amount of balancing will solve the problem.

If you look at the rims, you will see metal wrapped around the edge in places, these are wieghts that help balance the tires, like how your washing machine jerks everywhere if your clothes are all on one side.

This too, I even had it happen to me and forgot it.

Cars are stupid. They should just work. Come on people, we've had these things for a hundred years now.

Had a similar thing happen to mine when I first got here in 2010. One went and we caught the other one. Other two failed, finally, so now everything's balanced now.

I keep thinking that this thread is about the 4-door fiat 500.

My first thought was that Lori had been trying out women's footwear.

I've worn skirts, thongs, and lipstick, but never flats.

tire rotation is like an nsa plot or something

I tried and failed to change my own tire. It was pretty awesome.
