I looked here, and we are on the low end of our peer group (Canada, Western Europe, Australia, NZ), but we're far from "out of control." What might come as a shock is that Sava's Law of Small Populations are More Corrupt didn't seem to be supported by the evidence. New Zealand, Canada, and Australia, all similar in culture but much less populous than the US, were decidedly less corrupt.
