  • It's quite easy to design a line of questions to nudge the person taking the survey to answer in a way more beneficial to what you're attempting to prove.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

    • It's quite easy to criticize a strawman definition that was never provided.

If you want to read the actual report you can go here:

God you're an idiot. That was my point. No definition was provided. Without the definitions you should always question the results.

But anyway, so I went ahead and read the report and by grouping forced and incapacitated together (without providing a clear definition of incapacitated due to drugs etc)
they make the percentage higher and more alarming.
The information is disturbing enough. I don't think you need to combine them to make it sound worse.
        Attention grabbing.

Your point wasn't "no definition was provided" your point all along has been accusing them of trying to manipulate the results to make sexual assault seem more common than it actually is. Your knee-jerk reaction to a study on sexual assault is to attempt to defame the people who conducted the study. They ask women if they were touched sexually by force or while they were incapacitated by drugs and reported the result. You respond by saying "well maybe women don't really know when they are being touched sexually without their consent blah blah blah sexual assault isn't really that much of a problem." **** you.

            • Hmm it appears they did do what I claimed. You should read your own reports.

They never defined incapacitated by drugs in the questionnaire from what I could see. That could be read in a WIDE variety of ways.

              • And they used that same 'overhearing a joke' in the sexual harassment numbers that I referred to earlier. Using such a wide definition is going to jack up those numbers to sound horrific also.

                Typical grandstanding.

                      • LOL it's not "deception" to believe women who say they were touched sexually without their consent while incapacitated by drugs

                        • When you ask women if they've been sexually assaulted you get WAY different numbers. Why do you think they didn't just ask that?

                          • This was a voluntary survey. Guess who volunteers to answer a survey: someone with an axe to grind related to the subject or a random person with zero specific relationship to it?

I would be interesting in the likelihood of men to regard the same activity directed at them to be sexual assault. Women are pretty prone to subject men to sexual insults they themselves would probably consider the equivalent of assault on them.

Universities with better response rates didn't show lower rates of sexual assault.

What, it's okay to touch women without their consent when they're incapacitated by drugs because you assume men wouldn't mind having it done to them?

                              • You're lying. You keep saying this is about women who are incapacitated. The fact is that that's only a portion that are counted as sexually assaulted.
