This. Exactly this. When dad died, I would keep a set routine with my family and we'd do things like playing Diablo 2 together, or watch TV together and eat dinner together. I did this weekends, but during the week I kept to myself. That was my 'alone time'. I also had folks who were there for me whenever I needed them. Both helped tremendously.

What I feel like saying is very inappropriate. I've never experienced a pain even remotely similar to this, and I'm actually very curious about what they're going through. While I feel terrible for them, I'd love to be in some consequence-free world in which I could interview them about it.
