Ben ... I hadn't realized Adam Smith and Solomwi had died until I saw their names in your sig and clicked on them. I knew Scouse and LaFayette had passed from before my hiatus from 'Poly, but not the other two. FWIW, only the link to Solomwi works.
Must be a problem with the new server. Thanks. I'll see if I can't fix them. Yes, Adam Smith passed on awhile ago.

      Ok, Fixed. Thanks again, Gatekeeper.

Not in blue states, only in red states and even the red states are vastly improved by the ACA.

Pray tell which? Because obviously you couldn't be stupid enough to describe Obamacare as socialized medicine, because that would be completely idiotic.

That way people like the waitress can get the care they need without bankrupting people or begging for their lives. I call that common sense and allowing people basic dignity during a time of illness.

              That's just me though.
The Republican politicians in the red states are basically bullies in their behavior. Not only are they refusing to expand their state's Medicaid program, but they're also making it as difficult and convoluted as possible for groups and organizations to help people with choosing and signing up for coverage on the federal government's Affordable Care Act market website.

I see, this is the same federal government that's forcing the Little Sisters of the Poor to pay up or close? Why should a state be forced to do what the federal government says? Isn't the whole point of federalism that states generally have the rights over certain things.

And before we get into the Canadian model - do remember that each province controls their own healthcare system, and coverages vary across provinces. Even the Canadians aren't stupid enough to federalize control of health care. I see no reason why health care in TX has to be the same as it in other states.

If a state wants to spend more then they should be allowed to make that decision, not the federal government. One size doesn't fit all.

                  What are you talking about?

I'm talking about how red states are making it difficult for organizations and groups to take it on themselves (with no required increase in state government spending), to inform people about Affordable Care Act, and to help those in red states to use the federal health care market website to choose, and sign up for coverage.

How does that take away any state's control? Considering that allowing organizations and groups to inform and educate people does not reverse those red states' decision to refuse to expand their Medicaid program?

This is a lie. Expansion of medicare within the state is a significant cost to the states involved.

It's an additional cost of operation for every single health care provider in the state. Texas has said no - because the funds would result in a increase in medical costs in the state. Texas has also blocked implementation of Obamacare for the same reason.

Again - the constitution says that this is a right devoted to the individual states. Not the federal government. The state does have the power to say no, Mr. Fun.

                      You have poor reading comprehension.

What I'm arguing for has nothing to do with red states expanding their Medicaid program. Go back and reread my post.

You're a moron. No, for the first five years it is absolutely free to the states budget wise. As of right now everything from the sixth year on will be picked up 90% feds, 10% states but look for the five year period to be extended (that's almost certain) for yet another five years. Sometimes I wonder how you have survived this long, Ben, and why you haven't drowned in your own saliva yet.

What you bolded from my previous quote, was not the beef of my argument nor my point.

I give up. It's like trying to talk to something as intelligent as a slug with you.

Ben - hurry up and get your American citizenship so you can renounce you Canadian citizenship. Then you can depend on the superior US system rather than moving back to Canada if/when you need real healthcare.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.
