                        I thought you meant The Sinner's Prayer. Some protestants believe in that. I think it's a good thing but don't think that's all you have to do.

                          Romans 10.9 is a good general guide line I think for that.

                            You shouldn't take that literal. Jesus said unless you surrender everything to God you can not enter the kingdom of heaven, and that same sentiment is repeated many times in the NT. In James it says anyone who tells a poor man "be well" and does nothing to help him does no good.

                            I'm not arguing for works salvation, but I think a lot of people don't get the message at all.

                              I do take it literal. But to get the meaning, you need to see Paul together with James. They are not in contradiction. Faith alone saves. Faith without works are dead.
