TLC used to stand for "The Learning Channel". For some time now, it has merely been TLC. TLC is no longer an acronym. It's like Harry Truman's middle name. I was wondering if A&E had undergone a similar rebranding. Upon further investigation, it appears, in fact, that it has: if you go to aetv.com, nowhere will you find "Arts and Entertainment". It is just A&E or A+E. It seems they've given up any pretense of being a network for the fine arts, so you really can't get offended at the programming on that basis.
I still argue that watching a bunch of successful entrepreneurs with graduate degrees pretending to be slack-jawed yokels is pretty entertaining.
