I seem to get out of it that he considers lazy and not money orientated to be the same, or at least similar enough.

There's more important things than money. Like civic service.

Money and civic service are stupid. I think it's pretty clear that whatever I believe to be the driving force behind my successful life choices is the correct one.

I score on 1 & 3 as I believe I am both smart/talented and that people who are better off need to pay more. I'm afraid I do not score on #2 though, as I am reminded every day which I show up for work, because I'm obviously a whore for money.

I agree with your interpretation though, as you well know, they are not the same thing. I know several people who are not overly motivated by money but which are not lazy. Most of them seem motivated mainly by religion or ideology (for example the hippy do gooder school teacher) instead of money.

Are we comparing the aggregate value of jury duty, military service, etc. with the aggregate value of all activities that are undertaken for the purpose of making money?

I would put redistributionists OR people who think their demand curve is more correct than the market's and that the government needs to fix this
