That doesn't mean she buys her cigs there. Most people in Chicago buy theirs in Indiana. Or on-line.

You are very stupid. The US supported a range of dictatorships, military junta and oppressive regimes which kept citizens of numerous countries around the world living under horrific conditions including the wide use of torture, systematic rape, complete political oppression and extra judicial killings. Many of the overthrown regimes were not communist under any rational definition. Even if they had been, condemning millions to a life of terror to stop them choosing their own government type is completely horrific. You should be ashamed of yourself for supporting it, as it spits in the face of everything your country professes to believe.

Especially since they were often only elected due to meddling from the USSR.
Speaking for Argentina, the USA was instrumental in setting back democracy, free speech and economic development for decades; as well as supporting the rise to power of groups that tortured, kidnapped and murdered thousands of people.Indifference is Bliss

I was unaware that using the price of cigarettes in San Francisco to estimate tobacco expenses for someone who lives there and smokes, is considered an unreasonable assumption. It would seem, all else being equal that this is a more likely estimate than the other suggestions given.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

We certainly wouldn't have had to prop up as many dictators if they weren't the ones who were keeping the commies out, see for example Mobutu in Zaire.
The both sides being equally evil revisionism of the cold war is both amusing and sad. I wonder how all the western commies felt when confronted with the reality of 1 in 4 or more East Germans fleeing into West Germany as soon as it was possible.

I wasn't using Mobutu as a positive example. We supported Mobutu because he was anti-communist and threw him away when we didn't need him anymore (although, admittedly, it's not clear the Congo is better off now than it was when he was in charge because the Congolese Civil War was seriously ****ing terrible)
