Come on, Kuci, you have to admit it's a stupid thing for him to do.
I can confidently say that the expected negative repercussions are so close to zero as makes no difference.

Moreover, you are ignoring that he engaged in the LAUDABLE act of shaming people who deserve to be shamed. If this gets publicity and embarrasses the professor, good! This really isn't much different from the professor being a neo-Nazi or a Communist.

It was perfectly evident what the tweet was about, which is why the court found the way it did. The only thing this proves is that being cute about it doesn't stop libel being libel.

Oh balls, I can walk out in the street with a banner reading 'Down with the government' and there isn't a damn thing anyone can do about it. Just because we choose as a nation to not allow religious ****wits to picket dead children's funerals, that doesn't mean we don't have freedom of speech. Both our countries put limits on it anyway, we just chose slightly stricter limits in exchange for a more decent society.

        • And your "limits" are not quite as strict as they are under Stalinism, right?

We don't allow people to racially abuse others, incite hatred and violence and various other limits which we decided are fitting for a decent society. Most of us have absolutely no desire to live in a society where people can spout vicious hate at others for nothing more than their own pleasure.

Ironically of course you also do not have freedom of speech. You live in a country where your private words and opinions can be captured electronically, filed away by the government and result in your surveillance, limitations being placed on your travel, and a complete erosion of any expectation of privacy. If you want to start pointing fingers at other countries for near 'Stalinism' you should probably take a glance at your own first.

...and who on this board is singing the praises of any of this? Who in this nation outside of government is openly defending this? Citizens have been expressing their displeasure every time this has been exposed!
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Probably the most strained awkward metaphor I've ever read. We already know you are gay, there is no need for you to keep emphasizing how much Stalinist dick you've sucked in pathetic vain efforts to get recommendations from the prestigiously unranked CS faculty at the State University of Calgary-Alberta.
