  • No it was more irritating seeing a typical smarmy chicago politician being elected as a glorified reformer/outsider. What were people thinking?
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents – #43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That’s irresponsible. It’s unpatriotic. - Senator Obama describing his opinion of how responsible it is to run up massive unpaid debts the next generation has to pay.

He's re-formed quite a few things much to the irate anger of a few people.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like the man. And actually voted for him once. (my dignity will not allow me to mention which election)

What bothered me was his deification my most of the media. Those of us from Chicago were a bit more familiar with him but whenever we stated that fact, we were laughed at and said we were just saying those things because he was black. THAT had nothing to do with it. He was your typical CHICAGO politician. He used dirty tricks if it advanced his career. He had an opponent removed from the ballot over legalities.

There was no surprise for most of those in Chicago when the luster dimmed.

              • Being the first black President (or even biracial) is significant. Of course the media was going to cream their pants over it. Same would have happened with say, Colin Powell.

All though the media wasn't as nice to Hillary.

                  • By all accounts Obama is an asshole. People on the hill don't like him, that's why Joe Biden has to arrange all of his deals (even with his own party much of the time).

                      • Colin Powell or Connie Rice would have made a hell of a lot more sense.
