Where did you get the idea that chronic dehydration is a major health concern among Americans? Or that what the FL said is backed up by science? Or that anybody, outside of random dipwads on the internet, is taking the time to criticize her for it anyway? Or that those people believe water is actually intrinsically dangerous, as opposed to criticizing the program for some other reason (or incoherently throwing snark and hyperbole at their political opponents apropos of nothing, the way you do)? Shocking news story: hateful comments directed towards first family on the comments sections of right-wing web sites! Gee, we'd better nip that in the bud before it spreads to YouTube, huh?Originally posted by MrFun View PostWhere did you get the idea that the First Lady is telling us to say, drink 50 gallons of water a day?

For a lot of people it works really well for weight loss and maintenance, but I suspect it is the reduction in processed carbs which is a pretty common thread among a lot of diets.(\__/)

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluid_balance:
Be that as it may: It's entirely possible, for all I know, that the WH initiative is perfect, and a lot of people are criticizing it unjustly. But MrFun's article gave us no evidence to that effect. Instead it cited opposition from one expert--which it dismissed as absurd without explaining why--and rude remarks by anonymous posters to the comments sections of two websites. Even the article itself admitted that there are plenty of lunatics online, before plowing on as if it mattered anyway. And MrFun summed this all up as "Conservatives explode in outrage." I could, with equal justification, post a YouTube video of a guy with an engineering degree complaining that jet fuel fires can't melt steel, link to a couple of websites, and say "Liberals think 9/11 was faked."The amount of water varies with the individual, as it depends on the condition of the subject, the amount of physical exercise, and on the environmental temperature and humidity.[1] In the US, the reference daily intake (RDI) for water is 3.7 litres per day (l/day) for human males older than 18, and 2.7 l/day for human females older than 18[2] including water contained in food, beverages, and drinking water. The common misconception that everyone should drink two litres (68 ounces, or about eight 8-oz glasses) of water per day is not supported by scientific research. Various reviews of all the scientific literature on the topic performed in 2002 and 2008 could not find any solid scientific evidence that recommended drinking eight glasses of water per day.[3][4][5] For example, people in hotter climates will require greater water intake than those in cooler climates. An individual's thirst provides a better guide for how much water they require rather than a specific, fixed number. A more flexible guideline is that a normal person should urinate 4 times per day, and the urine should be a light yellow color.

It's comical how there's so much hatred for the Obama family that some would explode in outrage over the First Lady promoting drinking water for better health.
Talk about manufactured controversy.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

The internet is all about manufactured controversy. Trying to paint "conservatives" with the brush of "incendiary comments and trolls on internet news sites" is really outdoing yourself in the stupidity department, which, when considering this is you we're talking about, is ****ing astounding.
