Did you know that people who think global warming is a serious problem don't necessarily believe everyone should live in a cabin out in the woods...?

Really? You're buying that?

Is it not wildly more likely that two helicopters were transporting a ton of stuff, and someone thought it'd be logical to put the dog on there too, rather than sending a car just for a damn dog?
Mainly just messing with Sava there

The point is, however, that I do believe that Obama is taking advantage of his Presidential perks (i.e. golf dates with Tiger). You are probably right that the Osprey was detailed with bringing lots of required stuff, but the OP does say "the family dog needs his own state-of-the-art aircraft." (bolding mine). If true, that would be unbelievable waste...so in the spirit of the OP..........

I realize it can be difficult for you to hold more than one idea in your head at any one time, I'll be kinder in future.

That was noteworthy because they were. On that note, props to the Washington Post for hitting Obama longer and harder than the rest of them.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Either they in your words have a large number of press and PR advisers on the look out for things that only serve the purpose of making them look stupid and ridiculous or they don't. A family taking separate planes to the exact same location is both.

I frequently take a separate plane than my wife when going on vacation. Heck, on our last trip we traveled at almost the exact same time but on different airlines. We weren't sure if we could leave at the same time so we booked when we each knew for sure. This time it saved us some considerable cash, because my wife booked earlier and got a better price then when I finally was able to confirm. I would expect the president and his wife to have even more complicated issues than simple peasants like us. And there is also the issue of disaster planning. Not a normal issue for us, but for them, it should be considered. And remember, I am usually one of those looking for issues to crap on him.

Based on your posting in the past. You likely voted for him, rah. I wouldn't even be shocked if you voted for him in the Illinois State Senate.

Seriously though in the incident I referenced they took off within hours of each other.

With all due respect, it's not like they are pricing commercial airline seats.

More proof that you have no clue what you're talking about. I've always laughed at the Hope and Change crowd by reminding them that he always was and always will be your typical CHICAGO style Politician so I'd love to see what posts you think you've been reading. The only times I can remember saying anything not nasty about him was when the haters go overboard. Which does happen here. And I can promise you that I have never ever voted for him.

And Plato. I didn't mention it because of the money. I was just pointing out that it's not that abnormal or stupid for vacationing couples to be on separate planes. It happens a lot with busy people.

Come on folks, there are plenty of legitimate reasons to give the prez crap. This one is just silly.

I blame the slow news day. Or the fact Zev missed this story: More Fast and Furious guns surface at crimes in Mexico

Yeah, that's a bit more interesting than the minutiae of presidential flight scheduling, DD. Sadly, I don't recall hearing of any part of that story before. Not sure if that's because I don't follow the news or because conservatives keep going after the prez for goofy crap like his vacations instead of the time he shielded a bunch of incompetents who deliberately gave Mexican cartels access to high-powered weaponry.

Okay...point taken, but if they were really into saving money then I am sure that the Prez could find something productive to do around the White House for an hour or two while Michelle handled her business.

It is the problem that all politicians have (not just the Prez...but he should lead by example). They are so used to thinking in $billions$ that they think $thousands$ is trivial. What they seem to fail to realize is that the money they spend belonged to a real person who earned it. No politician in Washington is a good custodian of our money...it is just that the Prez is visable and when he asks us to make sacrifices with our money, he damn well better too.

And yes...I agree that there is much more to criticize this President on then this, but that doesn't give him a pass on this.
