No, at least in the seasons I saw, he was good at heart but got in over his head and had to do bad things just to survive. He really did start out with the best intentions (using his knowledge of chemistry to set his family up while he was dying from cancer) but there is a phrase about good intentions and a road to hell.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Apparently the Hank/Walt scene was going to be later in the season but they decided they had too much story to tell between there and the end so they moved it up.
