So many appropo quotes for the various threads,

[a classic Dodgeball instructional film begins]

Uber Film Narrator: [U.A.I.F fanfare] Uber-American Instructional Films, teaching America's youth since 1938.

[Opening; A boy rides a scooter, while a girl jogs behind him. Now we see a young boy painting a fence]

Uber Film Narrator: Hey there, Timmy!

Timmy: [yells] Holy mackerel, Mister. You scared the jeepers out of me.

Uber Film Narrator: How would you like to take a break from that fine lead-based paint... and learn about Dodgeball?

    Timmy: Boy, would I!

[the next scene take Timmy into a Opium Dem in China]

Timmy: Wow! Where am I, Mister?

Uber Film Narrator: You're in a Chinese Opium Dem, Timmy. This is where the sport of Dodgeball was invented in the 15th Century... by Opium-addictive Chinamen. But back then, the Chinamen threw severed heads at each other, instead of the A.D.A.A.-approved balls we use today.

    Timmy: A.D.A.A.?

Uber Film Narrator: That's the American Dodgeball Association of America. Dodgeball is played with six players on each team... and six rubber balls. The object of the game is to eliminate the opposing players. Once all the players on team are eliminated, the opposing team wins!

Timmy: Wow! I can't wait to get the fellas together and play!

What if light sabers were real and a group was wanting them banned. Would you still go along with the ban? Even still they were used in crime?
I'm not anti-gun, but what would you guesstimate would be the cost on laser/phaser/blaster purchase, upkeep and use vs. a traditional firearm?

I'm ok with light sabers, but not blasters. So uncivilized.

How about this, imagine a handgun sized maser (microwave laser) digitally controlled so that when you pick your target it identifies the targets cranium and fires a lethal dose of microwaves into the target's cerebrum.
Watching science fiction and considering today's advances in digital technology I wonder, wouldn't the weapons of the future be so accurate that they would be essentially 100% lethal?

What about altering a remote control? Some freak is out of control, go ahead and zap him. You could have settings that range from "Calm" to "Lobotomize".
You could switch them to a different location. Put them in a tutu on stage.

I got a question that I'm curious about.

Why do so many pro-gun enthusiasts vehemently oppose regulations on guns, screaming about RIGHTS but then have no problem forcing onerous restrictions on exercising the right to vote?

A little more detail on what you exactly mean by "onerous restrictions on exercising the right to vote", please.

If owning a gun is protected by the second amendment and voting by the fourteenth; AND one believes that one should not have to show ID to vote, shouldn't one be able to purchase a gun without ID?

Mr. Fun supports voting early and voting often since he believes one should not have to show ID in order to vote. Hey, that would mean people like me could vote too! Isn't that cool!
