Remember, I'm an outsider. When an American goes around and states that he believes that America is evil - it makes an impression on you. It makes even more of an impression on you if someone states he believes America is evil *and* he's liberal. What is the outsider supposed to think when certain insiders are more likely to hate America than other insiders? What is the outsider supposed to think when there's certain ideologies that are automatically associated AND he's aware of others within his country that share these ideas with the Americans who have the same ideas.

It doesn't take a Sherlock Holmes to figure out this connection. I don't even have to make the judgment - the folks in Canada who are Americans who hate America are obvious.

I was born and raised in the U.S. there is not a lot of war protesting going here. I would say that what's more important than flags waving is actually showing veterans they are appreciated by getting some of those bills passed.

To this outsider it's telling that you are unwilling to concede that the majority of war protestors in the United States are liberal, and instead insist on painting a pretty liberal picture. Remember, I'm a Canadian. Do you really think that 'painting a pretty picture' is going to work on me? What, am I not supposed to figure it out after been exposed to it for most of my life?

Hey Ben, what if I told you that the military is actually just another government agency and suffers all of the same problems that they all do, except that the employees are indentured servants?

What if I told you that the American constitution actually states that national defense is an enumerated power of the federal government? Also, indentured servants generally do so because better opportunities do not exist for them. Are you saying that Americans who serve in the Armed Forces are unable to find employment elsewhere? I don't believe that to be true.

And Occupy America is a conservative organization. Care to try again? Most of the protesters will outright tell you that they hate America and wish it were another country, like Canada. Remember my test? "Ask an American if they would prefer to live in Canada vs America. If they say Canada, you can reliably state that they do not value American values." Why would anyone who sincerely believed that America was the best country in the world prefer to live in Canada?

Actually....no. The real Ben Kenobi would be on the side of the rebels. However I was referring to the fact that these protesters don't hate America. They have issues that they want addressed.
