  • Chances are, you'll suck so hardcore at it that you'll end up being a good Christian by accident.
As opposed to someone who quotes the bible when convenient yet rejects it when inconvenient? Yeah, I'll take my chances there...

Everytime he mentions the confirmation and the religious pick 'n' mix odyssey I feel a wave of nausea and trepidation. One of the worst things about Roman Catholicism is the feeling of guilt it can inculcate in you- about anything and everything. I feel guilty for sharing a religion with that schmendrick.

And it ain't even my fault.

I suspect a nanosecond after reading your name. Sometimes it's positively interchangeable.

I know, right? It's actually his fault because he chose it.

Liberal Lutherans, that sounds reassuringly hippielike.

                    • Well, we do try to get 'the man' to change his policies regarding taking care of the poor (among other things - the ECLA in Minnesota was instrumental in getting marriage equality passed in that state). I dunno if hippies ever petitioned governments .

                        • So, I see Imran believes that the church should accommodate his beliefs rather than the other way around.

Tell me Imran, is there anything you've actually changed in order to become a Christian?

                          • Heck, I wasn't passionate for marriage equality, as an embodiment of God's love and justice, until I became a Christian. Beforehand I think I was in favor of civil unions.

(of course, if you hadn't noticed I went from moderate right to left wing after my conversion, then you are blind as well as deaf)

                            • Of course church should accommodate our beliefs.
