Oerdin, you're an idiot and I'm done talking to you. I just said, they didn't require transvaginal ultrasounds, yet here you are talking about probes up women's snatches. **** you're annoying.

As for the no medical reason, planned parenthood requires trans-vaginal ultrasounds unless the pregnancy is late enough to see the fetus on a trans-abdominal ultrasound...so evidently the largest abortion provider in the country considers it a medical necessity.

Not that that's the reason the bill was written though.

God dammit, this thread was funny while Sava and MRT were making cracks about CMU DeVry Phoenix University and my mom, then Oerdin had to turn it to stupid.

Because laws should be effing LAWS, doofus. It's moronic to have two types of statutes on the books -- those we actually enforce, and those we trust the government to turn a blind eye to. I don't think it's too much to ask our state legislatures to remove unconsitutional laws from their books. And I swear, if it wasn't your beloved Virginny, you'd agree.

It's not turning a blind eye to them. They're on the books but they are no longer laws once they are struck down as unconstitutional. If the Virginia General Assembly were in session all year round, I'd agree with you, but they barely have enough time to pass a budget for the amount of time they are in Richmond.

I had no idea that Virginia had the only state legislature that works its collective ass off like that. True servants of the public interest, well done. It's a wonder they have time to eat.

Well, they get paid something like 17k a year for their trouble. Remember they're only in the state house for 3 months, 4 on even-numbered years. That's really not a whole lot of time.

                    EDIT: Just looked it up:

The state constitution specifies that the General Assembly shall meet annually, and its regular session is a maximum of 60 days long in even-numbered years and 45 days long in odd-numbered years, unless extended by a two-thirds vote of both houses.

                    So less than I thought.

Banning sodomy sex acts between two consenting adults will protect children from pedophiles.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

                        You believe that? That's preposterous!!!!

...oh, I see. You're sarcastically repeating what the Republican candidate said. Well played. Thank you for this useful and informative post.

I'm glad you don't take it personal.

Stop saying stupid things. You seem like a smart guy. But damned if you don't end up sounding worse than BK sometimes.

Longer isn't necessarily better. Illinois' Legislative session tends to be about 75 days, and they pack everything they can manage to get done in the last two days they are there. If they get anything done at all.
