It bothers me that they call themselves Catholics, yet don't seem to understand what the Church teaches on this issue.

As for not caring about it - try taking the toy out of the pram and see what happens.

I understand why people have structured their entire lives around the availability of contraception. What came as a surprise to me, then as now - are the ones who do have large families.

Personally, I think the change will come when secular society starts realizing just how ****ed they really are. We're already starting to see fringes of it showing up. My lifetime, I expect to see it.

Obviously however you should keep fighting this important fight, as it matters far more to you and your medieval friends than things like starving children or the poor being left to suffer.

Some of us can do math and understand why the economy long term is ****ed.
