    DD's response?

So DD... why is it so frightening if the government gets your info?

I agree with you Sava. We can totally trust the Obama Admin to only do nice things, and not be evil and rotten like the previous administration who you allege did pretty much the same thing. Is the more interesting story here the government overstepping even the small limitations the Patriot Act places on it or that you think I'm a partisan?

Wow... Sava's forum investigative skills FTW!

Felch's point is very valid. President Obama doesn't give a crap about the 4th Amendment. Unfortunately the people who may have no shot at the Presidency (from either party - no, I don't think Rand Paul has a shot at the nom).

I've never denied being a partisan. My posting history is evidence enough of that. Does that mean this issue isn't worth discussing? Were the IRS abuses beneath your notice because it only effected Republicans?

In that case can we replace the content of your posts with < Insert Republican talking points here >?

DD, the more interesting story is that Sava caught you out in a contradiction. I think that's clear to all of us.

I'm impressed he cared enough to go that far back in the archives to find the post. Given the idiocy of government in the years since, I've drifted toward a preference of a smaller and less activist government. This story fits into neither of those categories. But don't let me get in the way of the lol's as I already have the answer to the question I asked and this thread seems to have no further value as a discussion vehicle.

Would it be rude to assume that when the Republicans reclaim the WH, that you will 'drift' conveniently back towards a larger and more activist government again?

                          Not likely.

Indeed; I think the real problem here DD is that you're basically doing what you accuse others of.

I'm very curious how many people, like me, objected to this stuff under Bush and have the identical objections under Obama.

Sorry DD. Not everyone views things through partisan glasses. Some of us actually have principles. Government spying on citizens is wrong no matter which party does it.

I'm just not going to engage in Obama bashing because the alternative is worse! At least Obama attempts to pay lip service to the notion that such abuses of power are wrong. It's up to Congress to change the law. And I don't see anything restricting the Patriot Act powers making it's way through the Republican controlled House.

Republicans only want to bash Obama. Given the chance, they'd expand these powers.

                              That is why you fail.

I will at least applaud DD's efforts to shed light on this issue... even though he's completely disingenuous in doing so.
