Seriously, what are you supposed to do? They kept him there without use of arms or putting themselves at risk, or injuring bystanders. To be frank, I'm impressed. Both by the crowds stupidity and the criminals.

That is disturbing.

People do strange things when in shock, it's the adrenalin. I knew someone who came across a car accident where someone had been beheaded. The head was lying on the road. He calmly walked over and picked up the head and put it in the gutter. It somehow upset him more to see the head just lying on the road. Afterwards he couldn't believe what he did, but he felt he had to do something at the time.
