That landlord was a jerk, which has nothing to do with his sexual orientation, so not sure why you make that a point to be known in this context.

He made it clear to me that he was a gay man. Again - you say I'm 'jealous' of your love life. No - no, I'm not. Sorry.

I filed a complaint with the equivalent of craigslist who removed his subsequent ads from their directory. I would have sued him but after my cousin who's a lawyer contacted him, he acquiesced and let me in to get my stuff.

I was away at school, and I came home to find myself locked out. I had nothing on me but the clothes I had and my backpack. He locked up everything and some things were missing, money etc, as had gone missing before.

In all the times I've rented, he's the only landlord who's stolen from me and illegally evicted me. I've, sadly, had several who have illegally evicted me in the middle of the month. But he was the only one who stole from me.

You asked me about the 'interesting things in my life', I can point out plenty over the years. I've seen some pretty freaky ****. I've had multiple landlords who abused their girlfriends - but the gay dude was the absolute worst with the illegal eviction, only being there 6 weeks, stealing from me, freaky ****. etc.

One of the other places I was at, I had one girl knock on my door at 4am on my day off and I drove her to a friend and she called the cops. This was the dude who came recommended from my good friend and employer. This landlord liked bringing prostitutes home every other night and beat his girlfriend when he wasn't with the prostitutes.

The girlfriend was cut, bruised it was awful. Worst I've ever seen anyone. Landlord was arrested the next day and I moved out at the end of the month. Got my own apt after that and split it with an old family friend. When he moved, it was me and my brother, which worked out well till I came down here.

Well, just to clarify, I'm not. Like I said - this dude left a lasting impression. I would have been happy to stay with him if he simply treated me with respect and left my stuff alone. I don't think that's too much to ask of anyone. He crossed a couple lines with me, and I gave him many, many chance to fix them. In the end I got screwed over, but at least I came out ok.

Let's see. Thrid time was a dude from CA who sold his house (short sale), and packed up his stuff and moved out in a weekend while I was away. Was out last months rent and half the month when the new owner came. Raiders fan. Ended up short 800 bucks, he was down the road and gone by the time I got back that Sunday night. Had 3 days to pack + leave before the new owner came. He left me a note, "let the new owner in", etc. Now I could have ****ed over the new owner, but why do that?

Second time was when I rented a place from a friend's dad. Paid up at start of month, went fine first month. Second month - paid up - he claimed I never paid after I paid him and evicted me. My friend was very nice to me though and threw me some work which made up for it. She felt terrible that her dad would do that but not much I could do.

First time was this gay dude who evicted me (about two weeks into the second month), changed the locks, wouldn't let me get my stuff etc.

Some landlords are just plain crooks. I've had some terrible ones over the years. One time I moved six times in the same year. Six times in six months from early March to start of September. Started the year with the paranoid landlady where I stopped the break-in. She blamed me for it and I decided to leave because I figured, if she doesn't trust me enough I need to be someplace else. I'd lasted over a year with her - 2007 is the only year in the last fourteen that I haven't moved. Moved in there in October of 2006 after the gay dude who evicted me that September. So I stayed with her, January, February and March of 2008.

Then it was the dad of a friend, where I stayed for April, and the start of May. I moved out May and into a room that was for rent in May + June on short notice. That landlady was nice. I would have liked staying there - but the owner was selling and just needed one month when she promptly sold that place.

Then my boss offered me a room in his motel (this is the developer dude) in July. Place was nice - but my room got broken into by some punks and trashed. So I moved out of there in August and into a boarding house on short notice. Then I moved out of the boarding house when I got a new job working for the health food store in September. That's when I moved in with the guy who used to abuse his girlfriend and brought the prostitutes.

Then in December my dad passed on.

So, yeah. 2008. I made more money than I ever have in any other year. Work was amazing that year. But I moved 6 times that year. From March to September of that year I had:

Paranoid lady (March), friend's dad, (April), start of May. Freezie pop lady (she was nice), Rest of May and June. July I bought my Mustang, and moved into the motel. End of July motel room trashed. Moved into boarding house in August. Tranny blew on Mustang. Got new job, moved into landlords place who had his prositutes. That was September.

December dad passed on and then in March I finally moved out and got a new place with my bro in 2009. Stayed there, and came down here in 2010.

Does it make more sense why I left Canada after having such a terrible year in 2008?
