That's not such a big deal to me. They didn't suspend anything. The "public safety" exemption just gives them a 48 hour window to question him in case there are future attacks planned. Any statements they get from him are inadmissible.

I heard CNN talking face Jeffrey Toobin give statements to that effect. He seems to be a smart guy with regards to Constitutional issues.

30 seconds to 2 minutes. If I see a crazy guy with a gun, I grab the phone, dial 911, run and hide. That's a much more survivable scenario than "hyuk hyuk lemme grab ma gun and shoot it out"

At best, getting into a shootout with another person is a mutual suicide pact.

Plus, it's my goal to get through life without killing anyone. I don't suspect God is a big proponent of "stand your ground"... considering the whole Jesus turning the other cheek and getting crucified... thing.

I also suspect you live in some desolate wasteland where police response time is measured in days. So that's understandable.
