    Another quick question - What was the political agenda being carried out by the brothers?

    I keep hearing "terrorism" but am having trouble seeing how this fits the definition...

      I haven't heard anything about where they got their guns or explosives... probably just bought everything legally. I wonder why Obama hasn't jumped all over this.

      Also, haven't heard a single talking face on cable news ask the question either.

        Other than the nebulous claim of jihadism (supported by his brother's online footprint), I don't believe anyone knows for sure yet. Interrogations are still ongoing iirc.

          Maybe watching people run in terror for ****s and giggles? I have no clue either. I think the thought process must have been something along the lines of
          1. blow up marathon
          2. ???
          3. profit!
          or something of that nature.

                The guns were illegal but the explosives you can get at home depot, if it's black powder like I've heard. Well, you can get the ingredients at home depot, and it's not too challenging to mix them. Saltpeter, sulfur, and charcoal is all you need.

                  Yeah, it is nebulous but the event is almost universally referred to as a terrorist act. Violence w/o the political aspect is just violence.

                      i tried this once years ago in a failed attempt to make my own fireworks
                      it wasn't even flammable

                                this mexican guy i worked with sold me some m80s his uncle made
