A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

How? Outside of a few liberal enclaves, gun control is a third rail. For every state that's strengthened its gun laws this year, two have passed laws reinforcing the right to bear arms.
        John Brown did nothing wrong.

If Leonard Nimoy taught us anything it's that laws exist to bring about the rule of righteousness in the land, and to ensure that the strong do not harm the weak.

Oh, but they just want existing laws enforced!

What a joke. And DD knows better. I bet his next post is going to be attacking Jon Stewart since he can't respond to TDS's fully cited argument.
Yep, when I heard about this a while back it was the point where I realized the NRA are ****sucking scum who need to be destroyed.

I'm also still waiting for any of our NRA worshipping posters to grow some ****ing balls and actually try and justify this. ****ing pussies.

              • The CDC is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and guns are not a disease.

That completely explains why it would be necessary for congress to stop this happening. It is clearly one of the most important and vital issues facing America today.

Thank baby Jesus that the NRA were willing to spend that lobby money to save their fellow Americans from having to know stuff.

                  • The entire study was political in nature. It's not like it was going to be some real scientific research. You're such a ****ing tool, kentonio. Your buying into the whole "NRA ANTI SCIENCE!!!" "CDC RESEARCH!!!" crap is exactly why the NRA wanted it canned--it creates a powerful talking point, but is completely invalid.

An industry backed group spend lobby money to buy a bill that stops scientific research into their product, yet your response is that the CDC wouldn't have carried out 'real scientific research'?

**** is wrong with you? You're not an idiot so please don't act like one.

Also backed by me and millions of other regular citizens. It's a strange criticism of the NRA, that they're an industry group, with the implication that they don't speak for any constituency. It's a cute little backhanded way of smearing your opponent as an industry stooge.

Guns are a significant threat to public health.

There is absolutely no need for a backhand anything. They take money from the manufacturers which makes them an industry stooge. They also oppose certain gun laws which a majority of NRA members back, so don't try and claim they give a flying toss about what their members think.

Gun manufacturers are afraid of the NRA. The NRA has ordered boycotts against companies in the past. It's a mistake to think the NRA is a stooge for industry. The NRA is a fanatical group driven by an extremist ideology. They are a menace that should be defeated.

                              • The NRA behaves appropriately. You wouldn't expect NARAL to support a ban on late term abortions. Political advocacy groups are supposed to take a side and stick with it.
