Do you not understand what a parable is? It's a teaching story.

Specifically look at Luke 16:31 -
“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
The story is about the Pharisees and Sadducees refusal to listen to Jesus, even after the resurrection.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

    • So if DOMA is struck down, then essentially the issue is left to the States
Again, this is not so. It would simply restore the situation prior to the DOMA - which was Federal regulation of marriage as one man and one woman. Per Reynolds, et al.

So you believe this part is pious embellishment?

        • Jesus embellished his fictional stories and used hyperbole at times to make his points more forcefully?! OMG!!

I think that Jesus's point in the parable of Lazarus is that Hell sucks and that Jesus will troll you in Hell not that "Hell is just Heaven for bad people".

What did this priest do? Crib Milton? It's been done. And better.

Yes, but it was a miracle aimed at solving a catering problem, not a marriage issue. It might just as well have been a Tupperware party.

Food services was a problem Jesus was acutely aware of.

You're the Son of God. You are waiting for the sign to start your ministry. Your mother tells you to fix the wine problem at a wedding.

Now, if Kidicious is right and Jesus didn't care about marriage or weddings were unimportant to him - explain to me why Jesus did what he did, there, at the Wedding of Cana?

No, that's not it. If two people get married through the church, it's a sacrament. If two people get married through a justice of peace, it's not. But both marriages are equal.

Not unless 'sacramental' has no value whatsoever.

                      • You've already admitted you want America to be a religious theocracy, so why not just be honest about it.

Again, I said nothing of the sort. I believe that Christ does have relevance to civil society and that marriage is one part. Alongside, "do not murder", "do not steal", "do not bear false witness".

Presumably the 'wall of separation' you prefer applies to these?

                                Is that a satisfactory answer?
Then the U.S. Supreme Court was out of bounds in ruling that anti-miscegenation laws were unconstitutional.
