Even though the game itself sucked/sucks, the experience of playing it was quite pleasant. The visuals are nice. The sounds is relaxing. It's a nice game to have running in a window (or fullscreen on a separate monitor) while you do other things.
I have been playing it every day. What a fantastic game. The servers still work, and I still use them, even though they made it offline to appeal to morons. Does anyone know how I can Paypal the developers some money? They didn't deserve what was done to him by fatsos like Nikolai and pedophiles like Guynemer. Guynemer how is Tropico 5 by the way?
I recently reinstalled it with the expansion pack (didn't shell out money for it) and played it for maybe 30 minutes. It's pretty much still the same as before, just some new graphics. Still not worth it even if you can find the game with expansion in the bargain bin for $5
I just played Tropico 5 for a little while, not much, but much more fun than SimCity. Pretty much only finished the tutorial and I'm currently playing first campaign map.
5 has more robust trade and foreign relations options, and my experience thus far suggests that foreign powers are much quicker to invade and wreck your ****.

I am reading that Tropico 5 just tells you what to do in the form of quests. Is that true?
For anyone looking for an honest-to-god balls-deep no-prisoners-taken why-do-so-many-girls-like-me you-can-cry-and-still-be-a-man-if-your-job-is-saving-the-world strategy game, I really recommend the Jagged alliance remake (Back in action). They don't make games like that anymore. You run a band of PMCs who go into some native island to give it some freedom in the form of elite special ops weaponry and scorched earth tactics, all to kill the feminist bull **** equal pay dictator who is running her people into the ground. Also, you do it for money. Lots of it.
Tropico 4 may have had a lot of problems, but the premise is just so fun I couldn't help but love the game. My ****ty little banana republic typically exports handguns and tobacco.
