UFO's attacked. They headed towards the skyscrapers... my $150,000 Sears Tower and $570,000 Empire State Building. I was about to unplug my ethernet cable... but before I could, they attacked Independence Day style. Fortunately, they only destroyed this poor little shack... one block away from my expensive assets!
To us, it is the BEAST.

So why is there no off-line option?
Very cool that you can visit anyone's city on the server, to learn how the top scorers do it.
I can't believe I'm doing this... but I would recommend this game. It was frustrating at first, but I haven't had an issue to speak of the past few days. I lost connection for a while today, but it didn't kick me out of the game like before. The online aspect of the game is what makes it fun. Playing in a region by myself feels lonely. I like checking up on other cities. It's fun to share pics and stuff in this thread.
We need more people to join Apolytonia and build cities.
Since release, I've played 50 hours of this game. That's almost as low as dollar per hour. Considering the cost of other forms of entertainment, this is certainly worth it. The technical issues are being worked out. They were annoying at first. But I suspect most of you are more emotionally stable than me and won't experience ARGHJ ALLCAPS RAGE because of bugs in the game or server issues.
So yeah.To us, it is the BEAST.

Oh... industry is all but useless. Res and Com don't need it. It just adds pollution (before upping to high tech) and jobs. You need a few zones to unlock certain things like mining buildings. But otherwise, there is no need for it in your city at all. Considering the space it takes up, it's not even worth plopping industry for the tax revenue. The job requirements are also very high. Even if you could get a whole bunch of high tech money makers, they would close down from lack of workers. Either that or you'd have a nightmare dealing with the commuters each day.To us, it is the BEAST.

Hacking is likely very hard. They run constant verification checks to ensure you aren't cheating, to preserve integrity of leaderboards. It's such a hyperactive system it can mess up normal legitimate gameplay.

I was trying to play it like other city builders. It very much is quality over quantity. Issues like low workers per population are balanced by the sheer volume of commuters coming into your city each day (when there are populated cities next to you). There are numerous challenges besides just plopping down zones and watching them grow.

What's interesting is that the game doesn't actually simulate every sim. Perhaps that's why only maybe 10-15% of the population are workers. Either that or they want dealing with commuter traffic to be part of the experience. Right now, Vulvaville needs upwards of 10k poor workers. I've got maybe 1k living in the city. 12k-14k commute in every day. I'm not even sure what the extras do. They aren't shoppers or tourists. Those are in separate sections. To us, it is the BEAST.

• Optimizations to improve latency. Region wall and city to city trading will be more responsive.

• Fixed an issue with rollbacks. Higher chance of success and less chance of getting in a rollback loop.
