Note that Australian's aren't stupid enough to drink those brands ourselves.

The OP is pure ignorance. For about 20 years now most of the best, most award winning breweries have been American. The Us has by far the most number of breweries, covering just about every imaginable type of beer along with more than a few which they have invented themselves, plus they're so widely available domestically & internationally that it makes the OP nothing more than a head in the sand know nothing. Our beer is simply superior to every one else's on Earth and their own beer shows, beer tastings, and sales prove that correct.

Because they want the best in the world and are ignorant enough to think that Budweiser equals all there is to say about American beer? You'd have to be a truly clueless person to think anything of the sort.

I only defend the beer from my home state, hometown in fact, not my country, the rest of the Australian beer is crap too.

Ny's Chuck Shumer has introduced a bill which I really hope passes. Currently Cider makers have to navigate a really archaic set of regulations designed 80 or more years ago which make it difficult for them to produce cider and still follow the law. Shumer wants to streamline the regulations thus opening the door to a new renaissance in American cider.

When is hard apple cider not considered hard apple cider? When it's taxed like wine or champagne. America is in the midst of a cider revival, but antiquated tax laws make it a risky business for entrepreneurs, critics say. Not to worry: Sen. Schumer is on the case.

So the UK, US and Australia all have big brand bulk beer makers that produce virtually tasteless lager that keeps the masses happy. It's not really news.

The US and UK also produce loads of really nice beers.

Possibly Australia does too but I've never been there so I have no idea.
