      No, it isn't.

Oh **** I guess schools are going to have to hire Spanish teachers that can't speak Spanish.

So you're saying it's absolutely ok to drive without a license in America provided you aren't from America. Yes or no?

Yes, it is. Every customer has the right to receive services in English.

#50: That question has nothing to do with the topic at hand, which is slowwhand's complaint about job postings that stipulate "Must speak Spanish". It doesn't say "Must only speak Spanish". That would be a truly bizarre requirement for an employer to impose on applicants, especially if it's written in English.

Ben, will never figure that out. Really it is way too hard to legally immigrate into this country. The non-college educated number of slots from Mexico is only like 20,000 per year, it takes an average of ~20 years to do, and it costs almost $20,000. If they had $20k and where doing so fine they could wait two decades then they wouldn't want to come here to begin with thus the illegal entry because doing it the legal way is damn near impossible. The solution is to make following the law so easy who wouldn't do it while making not following the law = hard penalties for all involved; workers AND employers (not just workers as Republicans have said for decades).

I've seen it happen here fwiw. Slowwy's concerns are quite valid.

If I can do it, why can't they? I thought you all said I'm a moron. If I have the ability to do it the right way, why can't everyone else who comes do the same?

The solution is to make following the law so easy who wouldn't do it while making not following the law = hard penalties for all involved; workers AND employers (not just workers as Republicans have said for decades).
So the solution to those 'following the law' is the eliminate the law entirely?

#56: yeah I'm totally gonna believe you when you claim that you've seen people not get hired because they can speak English and Spanish and the employer mysteriously only wants people who can only speak Spanish. Wait, no, you lack any credibility whatsoever.

There's a ton of labor laws requiring businesses to put up signs and things in English.

Given that my workplace at present is majority spanish speaking - you should.
