Laugh it up all you like, but it's true. You're the guy that pretends he's some sort of Real Republican when there isn't a single serious conservative issue you actually are conservative about.

By the way, the US is only "conservative" in the economic policy sense compared to the rest of the world. On social issues, we're to the right of Europe, but to the left of just about everyone else.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

It's a bit ridiculous to claim that Obama isn't a man of the left wrt the American political scene. He may be a British National Party member if he were in the UK but I hardly see how that matters to American voters judging an American politician.

Really? Anything else you'd like to be wildly wrong about?

I'm not aware of Imran being a Republican in any sense other than Colin Powell still claiming to be one since before Obama was elected the 1st time HC.

This only makes sense if you consider Bill Clinton a man of the left. Obama is rhetorically more left than his actually policies are (Heck, look at the drone strikes issue).

For some reason I voted for McCain... I'm not entirely sure why. But I definitely think I had left the party prior to that election.

It's clear people are discussing his domestic policy when judging him in this fashion.

Until the Republican Revolution happened, I would yes. In general however I would consider Bill Clinton a political sociopath with little ideological core and a keen sense of what suits his interests best.

I remember Imran as a flaming conservative. I used to pull his chain quite a bit.

Even then. Hillary was going to go for a much more comprehensive national health care policy, and lots of people on the right call her more moderate than Obama (which, btw, I never thought I'd see). Obama just signed a deal making the Bush tax cuts permanent for those earning under $400,000 - which, btw, was a repeal of the Clinton tax hikes in 1993. The stimulus was likely something George W. Bush would have done, if TARP is any precedent, though in different areas most likely.

I don't see the super lefty here - the talk maybe, but the end result is far more tame.

NE Republicans are never flaming conservatives so your old man memory is failing you.

I always find it interesting what you may think of the members of this community when you pop in every few years or so .

I have different terminology for southern and midwestern Republicans. Now where did I put my damn dentures again?
