That's because you come from an inferior country; though being British based you're obviously better than those "other" places. To be fair all other countries are inferior and even the Canuckistanians don't have as many "states", really only the Indians or Chinese more states, but that brings up uncomfortable questions about bigger being better so we will ignore those questions and pretend they never existed. It's best that way.

Australia doesn't really need more than six. It's heavily urbanized, and there's a state for just about every major urban area.

Oh, **** you, you stupid ****. Australia's biggest problem is that it has huge areas separating it's main cities. Something like 90% of Australia is dying unless they find some exploitable resource. There just aren't very many Australians compared to the amount of useless land which produces nothing and which no one wants.

There is a reason most small and medium sized towns in Australia are suffering a slow painful death.

The value is produced either in a few cities or in mineral reserves in the middle of no where. Well, that and the fact that even the nation's best farmland has only a tiny fraction of the productivity of Europe or the North America. Salt filled soils along with lack of rain mean the vast majority of Australia is low productivity farmland which others out produce in 1/10th the land.

In general there's just too many states. New England should be one state. Dakota should be one state. Stitch Virginia and West Virginia back together. Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Nevada and Montana can all be part of one state.

They mine minerals for the highest bidder which is as it should be. Australia, as a country, is most certainly under populated. The "white only" Australian government of the 1910's through the 1970's was most certainly not wrong about that though I don't care what race those people are as long as they produce things for sale on international market.

That said, yes, Australia has lots of natural resources which will need more people to profitable exploit and I'm all about exploiting ****.

Nah. West Virginia is pretty big. Stitch the NE together and Maryland with Delaware. 44 states, 88 senators.

I'd agree with this completely, except I'm slightly uncomfortable living in the same state as West Virginians...

Although I think it makes sense to keep Utah separate from Wyoming and Nevada. Putting it with Idaho is fine, since it would still be mostly Mormon.

I don't want larger states as they only compete with the motherland of California for influence. My personal preference is that they should all be subjugated to the needs of the California Republic. Yeah, that includes you worthless *****es.
