No, no it wouldn't. Very few people spend their time hanging around the kind of people who would buy black market guns, and even fewer would risk a jail sentence for a few extra dollars.

You also have to remember that virtually all guns used in crimes are second hand guns or are purchased at gun shows (the so called gun show loophole) where no background check is required nor are there any checks what so ever so anyone can get their hands on a gun legally without having to undergo any sort of checks. That must stop and all gun sales should go through licensed gun dealers only. It should be a major felony for people without gun dealer licenses to sell a firearm for any reason. We're talking it should cost you decades in prison and the lose of just about everything you own.

And if your intent was to shoot a bunch of people and die in a blaze of supposed glory, you'd still accomplish your mission. It's not like everyone packing heat would be an expert shot with the tactical knowledge and experience as to when to take a shot and not to **** themselves when in an actual combat situation. You'd probably do a fair amount of damage if you picked you time and location to initiate the shooting, and you'd probably see more carnage from a bunch of FNG would-be Wyatt Earps shooting everyone and everything before they finally got you.

Considering the IQ of the average person I see walking around the mall, if they were all packing heat, I'd likely stay the **** home and order from Amazon.

You should only carry a gun if you know how to use it well. Being armed is worse than being unarmed unless you train regularly. In general I'm opposed to the idea of concealed carry unless you are someone who feels a genuine threat to your life (public figures, celebrities and so on). I'm opposed in the sense that I think most people should opt against it outside of fairly unusual circumstances.

Except he wasn't confronted. The dude with a concealed carry permit didn't engage because he was with his kids and didn't want to draw fire his way, and he was concerned about his ability to make the shot and not hit someone downrange. In other words, he used common sense, but he didn't cause the mall shooter to suddenly quit and off himself. He was a non-factor.

Think about it. "Oh gee, someone way over there is pointing a gun at me, I'd better shoot myself rather than shoot him" Didn't happen that way.

But people with an agenda (not you, 'zerk, the source of the story you're repeating) don't need to bother with facts when it gets in the way of a good story. Sort of like making up a wholly fictional story of Feds selling weapons to Mexican drug cartels.

I was playing golf some years ago and on one tee, I was in mid swing when these high-school dumbasses on a mound about 60 yards behind yelled "FORE" at the top of their lungs just to be ****heads and mess with my swing. They'd done that before, with other foursomes, figuring they were too far away for anyone to run after. So I dropped an old ball, got out my seven iron and did a real quick set and swing and put the ball flying head-high between two of them. I had my hands a bit ahead so the ball didn't loft so much, but it was screamin' when it went past 'em, and they got the hell out of there. Don't underestimate the power of a golf club and balls.
