Doesn't this just mean someone else will buy the rights to make twinkies? I don't see why a reasonably popular brand of junk food is going anywhere.

So the CEO thinks it will be better to just destroy the whole company rather than agree with the workers on the problem? That doesn't make sense.

MrFun, the CEO is a guy picked by two hedge funds. They're perfectly happy to trash the company if they can't get it running profitably fairly quickly.

Basically. They'll likely sell off the name / factories to another food maker.

How the hell do you go broke selling junk food to Americans? That's impressive.

Speaking of which, what's the fallout for the computing industry? Is this a good time to buy into Mt. Dew and Monster?

Then start a ho ho company. I hear there is one less competitor in the crappy gluten goo industry.

Perhaps we should lobby for a rename to Hoho collider.

They weren't offering products which the market wanted and they weren't innovating either which is why sales have been declining for decades. I know the usual suspects were blaming the workers for not wanting lose their benefits but the reality is if management was worth a **** it wouldn't have gone bankrupt twice already plus the company has so much debt nothing could have saved it. If it matters, I expect the best assets to be bought up and still be in production.

Yes, if the management were halfway decent, it would have moved factories into right to work states where the risk of striking was minimal.
