    • I'm surprised there haven't been any new voter preference polls posted yet.

      • Most people seem to think Romney won the debate, so Romney won the debate.

Exactly. No one made a big deal about whether McCain had to show the public his birth certificate to get on the ballot.

Google did a poll of people during the debate, and more of them thought Obama was doing better so far. Then when the debate ended the librul media declared Romney the winner.

            • What, were people googling the phrase, "I think Obama is winning the debate"?

                No. A poll was conducted.

                  • Actually, there's no need to do the wink there, as that's fact.

There was some study that showed Republicans are more likely to use Yahoo.

When both Rachel Maddow and Bill Maher are lamenting that Romney won the debate, then Romney won the debate.
                      That about sums it up.

                      • According to a CNN/ORC International survey conducted right after the debate, 67% of debate watchers questioned said that the Republican nominee won the faceoff, with one in four saying that they had no attachment to reality, ahem, that President Barack Obama was victorious.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

                        • So do Americans vote on who lies most convincingly?

I've skimmed some transcripts and I keep seeing references by Romney to a 2 year supermajority.

I'm no expert, but as I recall the Dems only had a 4 month supermajority.

                          • They had a supermajority in the Senate until Scott Brown was elected (1 year). A supermajority in the House until the midterms (2 years).

                            • R/politics is glorious today. A whole bunch of butthurt morons claiming that everything Romney said was lieessss! and that's the only reason he won.

Of course Asher will believe the self-anointed "Fact Checkers" who are squarely in the Obama media circlejerk who are probably going into overtime pretending that up is down.

Debates are always about theater rather than facts. Always have been since the 1960 Kennedy/Nixon debates. The thing Obama has to do now is to point out that Romney was lying through his teeth, even though he won the debate on style points.
