Nope, not calling you a nazi for that. You simply decided for yourself that a certain belief is stupid because it's not what you believe. That's exactly the way I feel about atheism.

    • Why exactly are you guys arguing with Kid? I've come around to Wezil's point of view: the guy is mentally unwell.

Why can't loinburger say that considering a Creative Writing degree to be a good use of $200,000 is stupid without being called a Nazi? Did anyone call you a Nazi when you said atheism is stupid?

Accusations of Nazism are always good for a laugh

Why are you making me repeat myself, for effect? Loinburger does not believe in freedom or individuality. He doesn't believe that individuals should make their own decisions (they are stupid unless they make the same decisions as him). All I believe is that athiesm is stupid. I don't believe that people are stupid because they are athiests. As I've already said in this thread, I understand that there will always be athiests.

You were ascribing a motivation to others in an obviously incorrect way. The truth is that people do not all go to college to get a job that pays. Whether "getting a job that pays" is a primary, secondary, or wholely insignificant factor will vary from individual to individual.

That said, saying "somebody else's opinion is different than yours" is not really much of an argument against my opinion, since it's merely stating the obvious.
It is not a matter of opinion. It is a matter of internal motivation. But yes, it's a very obvious point that you were missing in your stance in this thread.

                  Fixed that for you.

                  • Yes, but according to you they're just about the only two "real Christians" on this site. Clearly the secret is to be a "fake Christian" like the rest of us. We came out just fine AFAICT.

                      • They are real Christians. Ben is a true blue Catholic. He knows his ****. Kidicious also understands Biblical inerrancy which the rest of you ignore.

If the true Christians come off as loons, maybe there's a problem with your supposed Christian faith?

For ****'s sake. I'm not going to sprinkle "IMHO" throughout my posts just because you think that I'm autistic. I should be permitted to say "college is primarily about getting a job" without you stating the obvious fact that I'm voicing an opinion that others may disagree with.

Why would that be a problem? People have been calling us loons for 2000 years.

It's not a matter of opinion.

You were ascribing your motivations to others to judge their choices by. You did so by calling people stupid for not behaving according to how you think they should given your own motivations, obviously missing the fact that they have their own motivations which may or may not correspond to your own. A person who wants to learn about a specific subject with little to no earning potential is not necessarily stupid. They are only stupid if they go into it with the expectation that they will be earning a lot of money off of the degree (or otherwise their motivations will not be properly addressed by the course of action they are choosing).
