BA's and BS's are both subsidized so it can't be expected to fully explain why one would choose a BA and one would choose a BS. It certainly does not mean people are going to college only based on a motivation to maximize lifetime earnings.

Further, it is a choice made hy individuals who are barely into their adult lives and who I'm much more likely to believe simply make bad choices (though I give this consideration much lower weight)
Doesn't mean you can blanket statement the choice to go after a BA as "stupid" as clearly there are many BA's who do not end up regretting their choice.

Why do you say that? He did all the work to get where he's at. I didn't. That was my choice and he made his own choice.

Already stated a couple of times in a rather straightforward matter. It's basically about revealed preferences and the validity of judging actions based on something other than their revealed or claimed preferences.

Look, if you want to be a writer, spending $200,000 on a Creative Writing degree is still a bad idea.

                            • No one's debating people's freedom to choose stupid things, Aeson. What we're discussing is the stupidity of said things. The fact that some people do something does not make it smart, for ****'s sake. Your chronic misunderstanding of KH's defense of the free market is getting old and is frankly retarded.

If you actually have a talent for writing, it will mostly teach you how to delicately tell those who don't that their stories/poems suck. At least, that's what a creative writing class does. The teacher might give you good input on how to improve your work, assuming you have similar stylistic preferences.
