I prefer bongs, and my friends all like blunts, so joints aren't really my area of expertise. Marijuana runs from about 50-400 dollars an ounce, depending on quality, region, and the number of middlemen taking their cut. The cheap stuff is crap, full of seeds and stems, and you'll probably only get 30 decent joints out of an ounce, while the expensive stuff you could get 50 or 60 good sized joints. Different people roll different sized joints, so that's just a ballpark figure.

Actually it was smoking an average of one joint / day over a 20 year period of time. Marijuana contains up to 5 times the amount of certain carcinogens and toxins found in a typical cigarette, so basically smoking 1 joint / week might be about as toxic as 5 cigarettes / day. Five cigarettes / day over 20 years would be 5 pack-years. Most studies of cigarette smoking don't show conclusive significant damage to the lungs in populations smoking less than 10 pack-years, nor would the risk of cancer or heart disease be clearly increased. Interestingly the study stated that there was an indication of some lung damage in subjects smoking more than 2 reefers / day for 20 years, but the number of subjects was too small to be conclusive. It sounds like they just didn't try hard enough, It would be interesting to study some Rastafarians.
