I do care about myself in that I plan to enjoy my time on this planet as THIS IS ALL THERE IS. I'm openly hedonistic and if my choices shorten my life (as they undoubtedly will) I am okay with that. I'm a Roman candle Kid.
And yes, I do think some others are mentally ill. It is demonstrably true and you make me suspicious based upon your posts over the last few months.

I made the same point in the past and refrained from posting in the crazy Kid religion thread for just that reason (aside from the occasional drive-by comment).

b) even if we let you off given that some arguments are more civil than others, once you've brought up bestiality and mental illness in regards to your opponent that door is kinda shut too...

How stupid and impossible does an accusation have to be for Kid to not take it seriously? Should I have accused him of screwing a triceratops or a trilobite instead? How about a paramecium? Or should I have gone full-tilt and accused him of something that doesn't even begin to make logical sense, like stealing the color purple or murdering the number three?
When an accusation is obviously mean-spirited and picked up by several people, of course it's serious. Perhaps you would have had some sort of point if you had left it at the one reproach (which was justified, and at that point you didn't know he'd take it serious) and hadn't begun mocking him with others joining in once you knew he was taking it serious. (BTW, didn't you learn anything from what happened with Dale?)
"Mean-spirited"? It was a farce from the beginning, and I did my best to make it increasingly so with every successive post. Hell, I even said IN ADVANCE that the accusation was stupid and unbelievable. The goal of the giraffe saga was not to rile Kid up--what would the point be, seeing as everything riles Kid up?--but first to show him what it feels like to be persistently dogged by utterly idiotic accusations (which the accuser smugly refuses to back up), and secondly to get on his ignore list. I would have simply asked, but given his spiteful nature I assumed such a request would motivate him to do the exact opposite.
It failed miserably at both objectives, of course, but by the time that became clear, it had taken on a life of its own and I was just seeing how many different ways I could riff on the general theme. When the ideas ran out, I finally ignored him myself, because lengthy arguments with Kiddy were taking up way too much of my time. Now, his reactions did make it funnier, but after all my aforementioned wasted time with him, I have a pretty good feel for what's his "upset" mood and what's his "putting on an aggrieved martyr hat for the cheap thrill of being a Pharisee" mood. He remained firmly in the second camp the whole time. If I wanted to upset him, I would speak to him in a straightforward and honest way about why I object to his behavior, maybe even try to empathize with him. That shocks and offends him. He positively revels in insults.
Finally, if Dale took the panda thing seriously, well, Dale's a bloody loon too, isn't he? As evidenced by his threatening to kill Asher with his Scary Internet Powers over some trivial offense? But the Dale-panda thing probably was at least a subconscious influence on my choice of subject.

You can pretend you know that Kid really didn't care about it (or enjoyed it, or was just pretending or whatever), but then you're contradicting yourself that he was taking it seriously. Chose one or the other. Either Kid took it as a serious offense, or he didn't and was just playing along in his own way.
