  • If your argument is really that goblins in fiction may or may not be classified as magical, then I'm not really interested in the discussion.

Of course not, because you don't want to look anymore stupid than what you do now. You lose.

No. It's an attempt to mimic the diet of our prehistoric ancestors. Veganism is unnatural.

No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

              • Speaking of food... I recently bought some goat butter which I've been using as a substitute for regular cow's milk butter. It has a different color (more white rather than yellow), it's slightly saltier, the fat profile is different (more over all fat but less saturated fat), and it has a slightly tangy flavor (think feta cheese). No, it's not part of some nutty new age diet but it is new & different plus it's slightly healthier (lower in saturated fat). I'd love to try it in baked goods instead of cow's milk butter and it does make run of the mill stuff (like garlic bread) have a new zing.

No it's not. It's eating what our prehistoric ancestors ate. What is crazy about eating what humans evolved to eat? Practically, it's a variation of a low-carb diet with an emphasis on not eating as much processed foods. Guess that sounds bat**** crazy to you people while eating the following:

Enriched Bleached Wheat Flour [Flour, Reduced Iron, B Vitamins (Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Folic Acid)], Corn Syrup, Sugar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Water, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable and/or Animal Shortening (Soybean, Cottonseed and/or Canola Oil, Beef Fat), Whole Eggs, Dextrose. Contains 2% or Less of: Modified Corn Starch, Glucose, Leavenings (Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Baking Soda, Monocalcium Phosphate), Sweet Dairy Whey, Soy Protein Isolate, Calcium and Sodium Caseinate, Salt, Mono and Diglycerides, Polysorbate 60, Soy Lecithin, Soy Flour, Cornstarch, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Sorbic Acid (to Retain Freshness), Yellow 5, Red 40.
is just normal and sane? Really?

                        • Hipsters are poor now?

I thought it was settled that Hipsters are well off young people trying to look poor (or poor-er).

No. It means eating meat (including organ meats), seafood, nuts, fruits, and vegetables and living an active lifestyle. Some also do engage in 'intermittent fasting' as well.

Obviously, you don't live the hard life of a primitive, but that's not really relevant.

I don't personally know any hispters so I'm judging based on the tattered second hand clothing, the cheap beer, the fixation with the $0.99 menu at fast food places, and the penchant for shopping at thrift shops like the Good Will.
