Huh? Why would the accusers themselves need any "organization" to simply send an anonymous tip to every newspaper and blog of consequence and see who picks it up? As I said:

Lord knows if I were in their shoes, I'd view Cain's sudden publicity as akin to someone throwing cash out of a hot air balloon, and I'd milk this teat for all that it's worth. But noooooo, not a single one of these as-yet-unidentified two (maybe three) women would ever be that cynical, even in a recession...

In any event, though I don't think the anybody on the left got this particular ball rolling, I wouldn't be quite so cocksure that they don't consider him at least a conceivable threat in the general based on recent head-to-head polls, unreliable as they may be. You have no idea what a vast wellspring of idiocy there is out there for his simplistic populist rhetoric and "real" styling to tap into. Maybe you should stroll from your uber-intellectual filosofizer ivory tower into the nearest dive bar and endure a crowd of Coors-swilling highschool dropouts raving about the great messiah that is Herman Cain. You elitist eggheads are just out of touch and it will be your undoing.
    Unbelievable!

In case Cain wins the nomination, I am willing to bet 10 to 1 against him.

Oh, we're not even talking about this; getting them to take notes at all is a challenge.

You can even post your PowerPoints before the exam, most of them won't even bother to download them.

You could always fall back on common sense. Who benefits from these sudden disclosures of sexual harassment settlements? Obama doesn't want to hurt Cain yet because Cain is the weakest candidate in the general election but there are several Republican candidates trying to win the nomination who would immediately benefit from disclosures of Cain's sexual harassing past. The insiders all say it's Republican competitors, Republican competitors are the only ones set to benefit from this, so common sense says it's most likely them.

Obama would love to run against Cain because all the polls show Cain would lose. If Romney is the candidate then Obama might lose or might win so of course Obama wants Cain to win. If we assume everyone here is an intelligent actor, which is a very safe bet, then Republican competitors are the ONLY possible source which backs up what all the insiders are saying.

Yes, obviously. Darius' surge was a bit far fetched, given that it's obvious who has an interest in doing so, and the capability.

Cain is fairly representative of what the republican party is today.

Well, I can sympathize. I imagine hearing about 14th century trivia probably seems like a less productive use of their time than playing video games.

You, like Boris, are oh-so-conveniently totally ignoring the accusers themselves even though I've specifically referred to them at least twice. Just tell me precisely why they're out of the running.

                          • I doubt the women who signed the settlement would risk getting sued by breaking the nondisclosure agreements especially since they haven't spoken about anything yet other than to ask for the nondisclosure agreements to be lifted. It's possible, I suppose, but doesn't seem as likely to me as a competitor who actually stands to majorly benefit from this.
