The interesting question is who does Romney pick for a running mate? He'll want someone who can appeal to both the tea party and/or evangelical parts of his base who don't like him. Bachman would appeal to both. But Romney is too smart to pick someone as nutty as her. So... Rubio?

Darling of the tea party, could make a play for the Hispanic vote, and is in a must win swing state.

    Calling it.

Rubio already said he didn't want the veep slot. I suspect he doth protest too much.

OTOH he could in a pinch also tap Allen West. LOL

I originally thought like you did, but then started to hear a lot of buzz from quite a few of the blacks that I work with. I was surprised. And remember, these are blacks from Chicago. The were really pumped up for Obama 4 years ago. And I'm not saying a majority, but it wouldn't take that big of a swing to make a big difference.

These allegations will lose feminist and liberal votes, that he wouldn't have received anyway. It will make no difference.

I can remember a thread where you argued that there are left and right wingnuts but I argued wingnuts was short for right wing nutjob. My, my how your position changes and just after I changed my terminology to make you happy. I guess this is proof you'll always be a malcontent with no point.

Link or it didn't happen. I'm betting heavily on the latter.

Rubio has a probloem in that he spent most of the last 20 years lying about his family background. He claimed his parents were refugees from communist Cuba when in fact they left years before Castro was even on the scene. He still might draw some Hispanics but Romney is going to need a white nutjob evangelical (and likely a southern one at that) to motivate the base who hates him.

Not to mention something like 3/4ths of their campaign donations come from just a few uber rich individuals. If they agreed to even a common sense tax increase on the rich, even just restoring it to the levels of the Clinton boom years, then they'd quickly find their campaign money dried up and went to a tea bagger challenger funded by that astroturf money.

He's both Catholic and a carpet bagger from the north so, no, he won't get the nod.
