If the odds are low then they are low. The length of time until the election should already be accounted for. And no, I don't recall hilary being a lock for anything.

Mitch Daniels is a midget. He can't run on a presidential ticket.

You're an idiot. 1. he's not a carpetbagger, he was in the Virginia legislature for 15 years and Attorney General after that and 2. no one gives a **** that he's catholic.

Oh yeah, and 3. he has over 65% approval. (67 if I remember correctly)

            I'm getting...

McDonnell was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (), the son of Emma (née Meiller) and Lt. Col. John Francis McDonnell.[6] He is of Irish Catholic extraction on his father's side. His family moved to Fairfax County, Virginia () in 1955 when he was one year old.

His family was smart enough to get the **** out and move to a place that's awesome

He's been in Virginia since he was one. Why on earth did Oerdin think he was a carpetbagger? Truth be told, McDonnell is one of the most moderate Republicans in the state government and is wildly popular. Is it possible for Oerdin to ever say anything nice about any Republican?

He's from Pennsylvania originally. Look it up. Besides, as I said, his problem is with white southern evangelicals so he needs a white Southern Evangelical running mate not a Catholic from Pennsylvania who carpet bagged his way to Northern Virginia so, no, the current governor of Virginia won't be chosen. Hell, most of the die hard wingnuts complain that Northern Virginia isn't even the south any more so Romney's going to have to find a wingnut who lives further south.

I do indeed say nice things about the none wingnuts. Jon Huntsmen would actually make a pretty good President but that said the wingnuts make sure normal and reasonably intelligent people who don't suffer from brain damage are not allowed to become Republican nominees. BTW WTF does that have to do with pointing out that the Catholic governor of Virginia won't become Romney's running mate? Romney's huge problem is evangelicals hate him because he's a Mormon and think he's secretly a liberal (where as in reality he's neither a liberal or conservative and instead is just a wind sock flip flops whenever the breeze changes); he needs an evangelical from the deep south that gives those wingnut crazies from the south the red meat they want. Then, and only then, might they hold their noses and caste a vote for Romney.

Remember most Evangelicals are luddites and ****ing morons. They still think it is the 1500's and that the 30 years war is still going on. No, they won't get motivated to go out and vote for a not really that conservative ticket with a Mormon and a Catholic on it.

I'm pretty sure that if McDonnell can win over the social conservatives in Virginia, he can win them in the rest of the south, too. They don't have any problem voting for a catholic. We've moved out of the 60's. Besides, VP picks come after the nomination, when evangelicals don't matter. They'll hold their nose and vote against Obama no matter who's on the Republican ticket.

Clearly he moved so that he could win the 2009 Virginia Gubernatorial race. What an ambitious infant! The guy's a southerner, only an idiot would deny that.

I didn't know he moved there as a child but I was right that he was born in Penn. Either way it doesn't matter because he's still a blood sucking papist so he won't inspire the evangelicals and you know it. Romney needs a running mate who will get the evangelicals hot and heavy and a Catholic won't do that. So on the important part, rather than minutia, I'm right and you're wrong and you know it (thus the reason you decided to dwell on minutia).

What to bet? The raving loon masses which make up the bulk of the evangelicals (who also make up the bulk of the Republican primary voters in most southern states) will refuse to vote for a candidate simply because they come from a different Protestant sect and they usually refer to the Pope as a false prophet or "the whore of Babylon". You don't seem to understand how backwards those luddites are. They are the ones currently declaring Mormons to be a nonChristian cult (which I agree with but they're all cultists).

In 1955, the father moved the family from PA to VA with the intent that his son could beat a black man in the 2012 presidential elections.

So the Republican Party is about to nominate Mitt Romney, a MORMON, as their nominee for President (believe me, it's going to happen), and Oerdin is carping about the evangelicals in the Republican Party won't nominate a Catholic? When going up against Obama? Seriously?

You realize Rubio is a Catholic too, right? As well as Supreme Court Justices Alito and Scalia (evangelical favorites).
