TRUE STORY
I knew this guy who was sucker for stray dogs. One day he reached down to pet a dog? grab? something? and it jumped up and ripped his throat out. Bled to death before help could arrive.
i wouldn't have ran from the german shepard. me and that dog would have had some... "words."
What a man.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.
"Hating America is something best left to Mobius. He is an expert Yank hater.
He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead
While on a run, a loose dog (a German shepherd) chased me. I lost it by jumping over fences but I am enraged that people do not keep their large dogs in the house or chained. This is the second time I was attacked by a loose dog while running, the previous time being chased and then cornered by two pit bulls (who used ****ing pack hunting tactics) before a passing motorist thankfully blasted his horn and scared the dogs away.
What can I do to avoid such problems? I have been very fortunate both times but the fact of the matter is, a dog has teeth and will always ultimately catch me unless I can put barriers between us. What can be done in such circumstances?
It's a good thing Muslims hate dogs and the Taliban probably doesn't own any pit bulls. Otherwise I would have serious doubts about Al joining the marines.
The Taliban might have dogs, the possibility can not be ruled out. On that basis, perhaps you should have serious doubts about Al joining the marines.
Umh, a bit of selective breeding might produce Afghan sabre toothed attack hounds.
I would like to confirm that, if you want a dog to stop chasing you, running away from it is not a wise decision. It didn't work for the deer their ancestors hunted, and they were a lot faster than you. If you do not wish to antagonize/menace the animal, simply stop and face it. Back away, slowly, not looking it in the eye. Try not to twitch if it barks/growls. Eventually it will lose interest. Or kill you because it can smell the small trail of urine dribbling down your leg. One or the other.
